Kypseli
Kypseli lies 12 km north of the main town of Zakynthos. Kypseli village is pure rural Greece and the locals are truly friendly in the well known Greek manner. On the main road (see map for location) you will find a small Greek general store ,a butchers, a modern supermarket and a bakery (traditional bread and delicious cake selection !). During the main season the shops are open all day from early to late seven days a week. There are several eating places along the seashore including Andreas' Fish Taverna , Vardiola Taverna and Porto Rouli , the local fisherman's taverna where you can relax to the sound of the waves and also some evenings to live Greek music; there is also a taverna at the crossroads on the main road.The beach is only a short walk from all our properties; it is a mixed beach with sandy parts and pebbly sections , combining the delights of sand castles with rock pools, hermit crabs, small fish and sometimes baby octopus making the area ideal for snorkelling. The sea is shallow and safe for children.There are lovely local walks around the lanes through lemon tree orchards and olive groves on your way down to the sea or to the local shops or up to old Kypseli Village . Transfer time from the airport is approximately 20 minutes. |
